Job Title: Network Support Engineer (Tier 1) Hybrid
Location: Ft. Worth 50% On-site
Job Description:
The Tier 1 team is seeking a highly skilled Network Support Engineer to support our IP network and telecommunications infrastructure nationwide. This is expected to be a long-term assignment and will extend.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitoring network and telecommunications infrastructure using CA Spectrum and various other tools.
Providing tier I and/or tier II network support and escalating as needed.
Assisting with managing incidents of all severity, with an MTTR goal of two hours for Severity 2 incidents.
Taking inbound support calls from internal campus and field customers as needed.
Creating incidents and tasks via ServiceNow, working with problem and change requests, and recording detailed and accurate customer and problem information in incidents.
Requirements:
Ability to work any assigned shift in a 24/7/365 environment, including weekends and holidays, and flexibility with changing shifts as needed.
Experience with Remedy Incident Management and Network Engineer job-related experience.
Proficiency in typing and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong independent problem-solving skills and ability to make solid fact-based decisions under pressure.
Strong troubleshooting skills and solid understanding of network fundamentals and concepts.
Preferred Experience:
Cisco CCNA and/or on-the-job experience managing and supporting Cisco technology.
Experience with SDWAN/Big Switch/Silver Peak, Telecommunications, RF, Microwave, Wi-Fi, and in a fast-paced environment and service desk.
Experience in the Railroad industry is a plus.
