We are seeking a motivated, mission-driven, and creative Network Engineer who has hands-on experience developing, deploying, and maintaining production networks for embedded and distributed computing systems.
This position is located in Austin, TX.
As a Network Engineer at Fathom5, you will be expected to:- Lead network architecture design
- Deliver resilient network infrastructure
- Provide expert guidance on network security and zero trust practices
- Attend and contribute to daily stand-ups and other agile meetings
- Network Engineering Expertise – Proficiency with implementing Layer 2 networks, Layer 3 networks, and Next-Gen Firewalls.
- Network Security Knowledge – Working knowledge of advanced network security concepts such as micro-perimeters.
- Quick learning – The ability and desire to quickly learn new technology.
- Team-first mentality – The ability and desire to work in a team environment.
- Physical ability – Fitness and medical clearance for lifting and carrying network and computer equipment.
- Ability to travel – Occasional domestic and international travel in support of customer projects and team goals.
- B.S. / B.A. from an accredited four-year university in a science, technology, engineering, or math field and at proven experience working hands-on delivering network infrastructure is preferred; Associate degree and several years of experience is acceptable
- Active DoD security clearance, or the desire and ability to be cleared required
- CompTIA Network+, CCNA, or other networking certifications desired (applicants with these certifications will have priority in consideration)
- Government or Military experience is preferred, especially in the field of shipboard networks
