Sr Network Engineer

Summary: The Senior Network Engineer will be a highly skilled and experienced professional responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of Pyramid’s and networks and associated cloud connectivity.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Design, implement and maintain the organization's networks, including switches, routers, firewalls, storage systems, and infrastructure.
• Monitor and optimize the performance of computer networks at corporate and field site locations in a multilocation environment
• Design, implement, and maintain secure and scalable network architectures, with a specific focus on Cisco networking and Azure technologies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure network solutions align with organizational security policies and standards
• Configure, optimize, and troubleshoot AnyConnect VPN solutions to provide secure remote access for employees and partners.
• Stay current with emerging VPN technologies and implement best practices to maintain a secure and reliable VPN infrastructure.
• Implement and enhance Zero Trust Network principles to ensure the least privileged access and robust authentication mechanisms
• Identify and resolve technical issues in a timely and efficient manner, including troubleshooting hardware and software problems.
• Configure and maintain Cisco/Meraki networking equipment, ensuring high performance and adherence to security standards.
• Design and implement Azure networking solutions, integrating security best practices into cloud architectures..
• Stay up-to-date with the latest technology trends and advancements in the field and make recommendations for upgrades and improvements.
• Implement and manage network monitoring tools to detect and respond to security incidents promptly.
• Collaborate with the incident response team to analyze and mitigate security incidents effectively
• Collaborate with other IT professionals and stakeholders to identify business requirements and develop technical solutions that meet those requirements.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations, security protocols, and troubleshooting procedures.
• Provide training and knowledge transfer to team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning
• Participate in the planning and implementation of large-scale IT projects.

Required Qualifications

• Education, Licensure, & Experience
• Bachelor of Science/Arts degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field or comparable work experience.
• Proven experience as a Security and Network Engineer, with expertise in Cisco networking and AnyConnect VPN. Azure networking experience is highly desired.
• Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, Azure certifications, and relevant security certifications are preferred.
• Familiarity with Zero Trust Network principles and VPN technologies
• Minimum 5-7 years of experience with advanced Network Engineering

• Strong technical skills, including expertise in operating systems, virtualization, storage, and networking technologies, are essential for success in this role.
• Multilocation site experience is relevant and a key requirement
• Excellent problem-solving, and leadership skills are required to effectively collaborate with other stakeholders
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Demonstrated ability with 3rd party cloud security and identity solutions including Okta.
• Experience with Microsoft Cloud Platform Networking & Security - users, groups and roles
• Virtualization computing environments including HyperV and VMWare
• Interest in learning and taking on increasingly complex tasks
• Knowledge of application deployment process is a plus including PowerShell and modern deployment tools
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 environment
• Cisco Meraki Knowledge is a plus
• CCaaS and UCaaS knowledge is a plus
