Key Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Provide Operations and Maintenance support for web sites and applications on PaaS, CoLo and Cloud environments.
- Design, implement, and maintain robust network architectures that align with business requirements and agency standards.
- Configure, manage, and troubleshoot network devices, such as routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
- Modify, test, and install changes to computer systems and network hardware, such as CISCO Routers, Switches, Checkpoint Firewall, and VPN
- Ensures proper IP Address allocation to optimize network performance and maintain network security.
- Leads efforts to troubleshoot network issues and outages, coordinates with internal and external entities to resolve complex networking issues.
- Other IT support activities as required to maintain, upgrade, and optimize various networks.
- Perform daily operations checks to ensure all systems are operational.
- Troubleshoot client connectivity issues to the applications and web sites.
- Maintain an operational state on all production and pre-production servers.
- Apply database updates and scripts for pre-production and production applications.
- Submit service requests to the proper support entities within the hosting facility.
- Experience remediating vulnerabilities and deploying them into lower and prod environments.
- Conduct network performance analysis, capacity planning, and security assessments.
- Collaborate with IT teams to integrate network solutions with other systems and applications.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to Network Engineering teams, assisting with complex problem-solving and skill development.
- Stay up to date with emerging networking technologies, trends, and best practices to drive continuous improvement.
- Participate in architectural discussions and decisions, ensuring solutions are scalable and sustainable.
- Serve as the main point of contact for project-related communications with internal and external teams, clients, vendors, and partners.
- Foster strong relationships with stakeholders, understanding their needs, and ensuring alignment with project objectives.
- Address concerns, gather feedback, and manage expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
- Identify potential project risks and develop effective mitigation strategies.
- Lead end-to-end project management for designing and deploying network infrastructure for multiple application initiatives, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
- Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and resource allocation to ensure project success.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and proactively address issues to keep projects on track. Communicate project status, updates, and performance metrics to stakeholders.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Proven experience in technical project management and Network Engineering roles.
- Professional certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional), CCNA or CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Associate/Professional), or equivalent, are a strong plus.
- In-depth knowledge of network protocols, routing, switching, security, and wireless technologies.
- Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, projects, and priorities simultaneously.
- Experience with network monitoring and diagnostic tools.
- Collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
Desired Skills and Qualifications
- Previous Federal Government experience
- Experience of working in an AGILE environment.
