- Position: Network Engineer Lead
- Location: San Antonio, TX
- Position Type: Full Time
- Travel: 50%
- Clearance: Public Trust or Higher
- Provide highly technical expertise in network and telecommunications architecture development, network/systems design, cable abatement, and product selection.
- Lead network infrastructure upgrade design projects. Prepare project implementation plans,
- Coordinate project activities, monitors project milestones, and provide progress reports.
- Functional responsibility for all aspects of project performance (i.e., technical, contractual, administrative, financial).
- Manage and supervise personnel involved in all aspects of project activity, organize and assign responsibilities to subordinates, and oversee the successful completion of all assigned tasks. Ensures that the highly complex and technical requirements related to the infrastructure are addressed.
- Identifies and resolves larger, more complex LAN/WAN network problems and issues, researches network-level problems using network management tools and is responsible for providing high-level installation, configuration, management and troubleshooting of LAN/WAN communication equipment for networked facilities.
- Serves as the lead point of contact for network issues, configuration management and communications interconnection, addressing, and multi-protocol routing and network management.
- Advises and consults with government staff, agencies and Contractor representatives involved with LAN/WLAN design, network implementation and network management to ensure the LAN/WLAN adequately supports the DHA mission and provides optimal performance. Interfaces with Government and other Contract leads, Network Specialists and internal or external organizations to resolve LAN/WLAN issues.
- Provides recommendations to personnel in the field by making either a change to network-level operations or an enhancement to the network (tuning or upgrade). Studies vendor products to determine which components and configurations best meet the requirements of DoD, DHA, and MTFs
- This position is subject to up to 50% travel.
Education/Certifications:
- Bachelors degree (desired)
- CCNA (required) - CCNP (desired)
- 5+ years of experience in an engineering discipline related in information technology.
