Requirements (Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification):
- An Associate Degree in computer science or related field and 3 years of progressive experience in network administration.
- Must possess networking and/or information security certifications. e.g., Microsoft, and/or information security certifications. e.g., Microsoft Certified System Administrator (MCSA), Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), Cisco Certified Network Professional – Enterprise (CCNP), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), CompTIA Net+, CompTIA Security+, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), or other related certifications.
- Must possess and maintain auto liability insurance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer networking and/or information security.
- Seven years of network and systems administration experience.
- Advanced networking and systems administration certifications (see Licensure and Certifications Requirements)
- Familiar with Windows and Linux servers.
- Familiar with Active Directory and Microsoft 365.
- Experience with information security tools.
- Ability to write PowerShell scripts and/or SQL queries.
- Project management experience.
Special Working Conditions and/or Hazards:
- Employees work indoors and are protected from weather conditions or contaminants, but not necessarily occasional temperature changes.
Job Duties:
- Designs advanced network configurations, network architecture, and systems.
- Collaborates with partner agencies to facilitate optimal WAN and LAN network configurations.
- Configures, deploys, and administrates routers, switches, servers, and supporting networking devices.
- Performs software and hardware assessments, installations, updates, and upgrades.
- Collaborates with IT Security Officer to apply the appropriate levels of network security governance to the network.
- Configures and deploys solutions to meet the established network security standards.
- Monitors systems and network performance.
- Automates manual and repetitive processes.
- Reviews logs to analyze, isolate, and solve complex systems and network problems.
- Participates in the design and execution of system backup and disaster recovery procedures.
- Performs help desk related duties.
- Maintains current and up-to-date knowledge of technological developments, techniques, and tools, along with appropriate professional designations and certifications as applicable.
- Performs other duties as administratively assigned.
- Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance.
