The Network Development Specialist is responsible for establishing MedRisk’s workers’ compensation rehabilitation network. Specialists oversee the day to day process of recruiting new providers/provider groups and securing direct contracts. Candidates must possess excellent written and verbal/telephonic communication skills, organizational skills and negotiation skills. Prior experience in a medical (PPO, HMO, Provider Network), insurance or sales oriented recruitment environment is required for this position. Candidate should be a self-starter who has a proven track record of working successfully as part of a larger team.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Research and recruit potential providers for current and new product lines.
- Monitor and ensure that recruited providers are followed up with in a timely manner.
- Update and maintain documentation of recruitment status in designated tracking system.
- Work with other Network Specialists to aggressively move potential providers toward participation with the network
- Strategic identification and information confirmation for potential providers.
- Heavy telephonic recruitment/contact with providers.
- Assist management in strategic development and achievement of quarterly/annual goals.
- Present or assist in preparation for on-site visits to providers, etc.
- Work directly with external clients and provide a high level of customer service
- Assist and interact with members of the Provider Relations Team
- Other duties as assigned
- Strictly adheres to all aspects of MedRisk Confidentiality, Privacy and Security Standards Policies and Confidentiality Operating Procedures in performing work. Does not use or discuss MedRisk’s or customers’, providers’, trading partners’ or vendors’ commercially sensitive or privacy-related information, including “PHI” (personal health information) with anyone inside or outside of MedRisk except as needed to perform an assigned task.
Qualifications
- Degree in Business or related area or equivalent experience required.
- Prior experience in sales, preferably in the medical field
- Strong attention to detail and ability to establish and meet quotas
- Excellent technical skills with proficiency in: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proven ability to handle multiple tasks and manage time effectively
- Personable and able to manage a variety of people while motivating employees to work efficiently
