Job description

Sayres is looking to expand our team with a Senior Pricing Manager with a strong background in Cost Plus pricing and experience in supporting high-volume Government contracts. This exciting opportunity is based in our Corporate office, strategically located just outside the Navy Yard and in close proximity to Nationals Park in the heart of Washington, DC. The area is characterized by dynamic economic growth, offering an exceptional work-life experience complemented by a multitude of lively restaurants and scenic green spaces along the river.

Moreover, we recognize the importance of flexibility in today's work environment, and we are open to discussing ongoing telework options, including fully remote, during the interview process.

In the role of Senior Pricing Manager, you will report directly to the Vice President of Contracts and Procurement, and you will perform several pivotal job functions. These responsibilities include the development and preparation of various critical documents, such as cost models, cost narratives, and other essentials, all of which are crucial to streamline and support the pricing activities of the company. The objective here is to ensure not only compliance with proposal requirements but also effective management of teaming partners and their pricing inputs on bids.

  • Your role will demand the application of accounting and statistical principles to analyze the complex aspects of pricing within the technical requirements of requests for proposals (RFPs).
  • With this analysis, you will craft well-informed and robust pricing responses.
  • Moreover, your responsibilities will extend to analyzing RFPs to ascertain the specific cost proposal prerequisites and to assist in formulating a price-to-win strategy.
  • Your support will be instrumental in guiding proposal and capture managers in constructing the Company's pricing response in a manner that aligns with the company's strategic goals and objectives.

A further facet of your role will involve customizing standard forms and formats to meet the specific requirements of solicitations. Here, your adaptability and attention to detail will be invaluable.

  • You will also provide essential support for proposal development and capture activities, guided by a profound understanding of federal regulations. The goal is to ensure the highest level of compliance and responsiveness to the RFP while adhering to the company's accounting policies, internal standards, and government regulations.

In addition to these core responsibilities, you will take charge of creating and maintaining comprehensive contracts and subcontracts reporting information, assisting with relevant actions which are essential to monitor and report on awards while maintaining contract compliance. In the realm of key activities, your role will require strict adherence to compliance standards and comprehensive documentation in alignment with Sayres' policies and procedures. This will involve meticulous organization of materials according to Company practices and terminology, preparing concise summaries for inclusion in proposals. You'll be entrusted with reviewing inputs to ensure the responsiveness of proposals to the RFP and their alignment with accounting policies, company standards, and government regulations. Quality assurance reviews will be integral to your role, ensuring that all pricing-related actions within the proposal are comprehensive, complete, and fully responsive.

  • Coordination is key in managing the preparation, publication, and distribution of pricing data to management and contracts administrators. Collaborative efforts will extend to determining cost proposal policies, standards, procedures, and updates to the estimating process at Sayres.
  • Your role will also encompass essential support for Contracts and Subcontracts Management reporting and activities upon award. Additionally, you may be called upon to assist with audits and participate in fact-finding sessions, underscoring the varied nature of your responsibilities. The ability to work in a deadline-sensitive environment is paramount, and your flexibility to accommodate after-hours work and attend in-person meetings when needed will be greatly appreciated.

In terms of minimum qualifications, a Bachelor's Degree and familiarity and training in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation (DFAR) concepts are prerequisites for this position. A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in government pricing and contracting is necessary. Membership in the National Contract Management Association (NCMA) is highly preferred. Your ability to apply contracts management concepts within Sayres' contracting environment is vital, as is your proficiency in advanced Excel skills. Effective communication, both in oral and written form, will be an asset, and strong interpersonal skills are a necessity, especially in engaging with employees at all organizational levels, including key stakeholders.

Your meticulous attention to detail and your unwavering commitment to meeting deadlines will be crucial in this role. A proactive approach to seeking and utilizing resources for task completion is expected, as is the flexibility to adapt to a fast-paced work environment. Long-distance travel is not anticipated, but the ability to obtain a security clearance is required.

Furthermore, your role will extend to performing other related duties as assigned, making your contribution to Sayres versatile and dynamic.
