The State of North Dakota is looking for a Network and Facility Administrator to support, design and test infrastructure within the Intelligent Transportation System and datacenter.
North Dakota Information Technology manages a 24/7 data center with multiple physical locations that provide the system hosting services, storage hosting services, desktop support and database management services to a variety of customers including all levels of state government. This role will work on site at these locations throughout the Bismarck-Mandan area. This role will also provide support to the Intelligent Transportation System.
The Network and Facility Administrator will:
Administrate and maintain Intelligent Transportation System infrastructures across the entire enterprise
Be responsible for the administration of data center equipment and all related infrastructure
Follow Architectural designs and assist in developing plans for successful implementation
Troubleshoot and gather information while analyzing configuration and performance problems across the state's network, and over carrier networks.
Communicate highly technical information using tact and diplomacy for the benefit of customers, colleagues, and vendors, while providing excellent customer service
The successful Network and Facility Administrator candidate will enjoy working with people in a collaborative environment and learn quickly in a rapidly changing technology landscape. They will be able to research the capabilities of enterprise wireless technologies and author technical articles to assist co-workers in understanding the technologies. The successful candidate can design and engineer complex network solutions involving multiple stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications
To be considered for this role you will need:
Bachelor's degree in a Computer Science or a closely related field and two years of current and progressive experience in computer operations support, including infrastructure maintenance and system implementations
OR
Associate degree in a Computer Science or a closely related field and four years of current and progressive experience in computer operations support, including infrastructure maintenance and system implementations
OR
Five years of current and progressive experience in computer operations support, including infrastructure maintenance and system implementations
