Job description

Job Title: Network Administration, SkySwitch VoIP Phone Systems

Reports to: IT Manager

Start Date: Immediately

Job Summary:

This multi-function position combines network administration and VoIP phone systems management. The day-to-day functions include networking duties and VoIP Phone installations/support. Additionally, remote help desk support for end-user issues is an additional responsibility of this position. Communicating appropriate expectations concerning repairs, turnaround times, and technical information to colleagues and end users is essential to this position.

This position requires a highly organized and detail-oriented individual with basic computer knowledge and the aptitude for technical growth and understanding. The ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment will contribute to the individual's overall success. This role is crucial in delivering efficient and effective repair services to all clients of Professional Technologies. This position is in an office and unavailable as a remote work-from-home position. Occasional overnight and/or weekend travel is required.

Key Responsibilities:

Network Administration Assistant (40% of time)

· Network discoveries, installations & configurations, confirming set up aligns with client needs

· Network monitoring & maintenance, to identify and resolve issues proactively maintenance

· Remote support, acting as a point of contact for diagnosing and resolving connectivity

· Implementing network security measures to protect data and infrastructure

· Backup and disaster recovery: ensure that backups are in place to restore network functionality

· Manage user accounts, permissions, and access to network resources

Help Desk Support (20% of time)

· Serve as the first point of contact for IT support within the organization, addressing a wide range of technical issues.

· Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, and network-related problems.

· Maintain detailed records of user requests, issues, and resolutions in the IT support ticketing system.

· Develop and maintain IT support documentation and knowledge base articles.

· Troubleshoot and resolve software-related problems, ie, OS, drivers, application errors

· Scan and remove viruses, malware, and other security threats from computers and networks

SkyKick Phone System Management (40% of time)

· Lead the setup, configuration, and maintenance of the SkyKick phone system to meet the client’s communications needs.

· Conduct training sessions for end-users, ensuring they are proficient in utilizing the phone system's features and functionalities.

· Collaborate with internal teams to identify and implement system enhancements and integrations that improve communication efficiency.

· High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications or a degree in Computer Science or related field is a plus.

· Maintain accurate records of repairs, replacements, and service requests. Document troubleshooting steps, including photos and solutions. Syncro and HUDU are essential to documentation and include adding KBAs outlining solutions to HUDU documentation for clients and creating checklists in Syncro for more effective troubleshooting.

· Proactive and self-motivated, able to work independently and as part of a team.

· Proficiency in diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues.

· Proven experience working with networks, help desk or similar role.

· Provide excellent customer service by effectively communicating technical issues and solutions to non-technical users.

· Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

· Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, operating systems, and peripherals.

· Strong multitasking and organizational abilities, with the capacity to prioritize tasks and make quick decisions under pressure.

· Additional duties as assigned

Salary & Benefits: Salary 60 – 80K annually based upon experience; benefits include Health Insurance, (employer pays 50%), Dental & Vision, Simple IRA with 3% employer contribution, 5 Federal Holidays, 18 days paid time, Certification Testing Reimbursement

Education & Experience: High School Diploma or Equivalent, Associate of Applied Science Degree in Networking, Technical certifications a plus; strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, Operating Systems, and peripherals. Ongoing training is required

Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on computers. Must be able to install networking equipment, such as wall-mounted racks and access points, and run structured cabling. Must be able to climb ladders, use scissor lifts, and lift up to 50 pounds.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
