Job Description
Purpose of the Role and Scope of Responsibility: Ensures the function and security of all servers, networks, cameras, network devices, and cloud services in use by the College?s faculty, staff, and student body.
Principal Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
- Maintains, administers, and monitors the security of and logs for all server, network, network devices, cloud services, camera, and security systems in use by the College?s faculty, staff, and student body.
- Reviews monthly external security report and makes appropriate changes based on report to ensure Ranken is secure and all potential risks are resolved.
- Maintains and administers the College?s network and data security, ensuring all systems are secure.
- Maintains and administers M365.
- Maintains and administers all server OS; ensuring all are up to date.
- Maintains and administers Endpoint Protection for all locations. (Currently Sophos)
- Annually reviews and updates all security policies, procedures, and plans.
- Serves as point of contact for all system security issues.
- Serves as point of contact for all Internet services for all locations.
- Ensures backup and recovery is functioning properly.
- Troubleshoots and resolves problems; upgrades hardware, software, and operating systems; and performs new installations as well as installs and is responsible for ensuring maintenance of all network cabling and network devices throughout the campus.
- Maintains and administers the College?s phone system.
- Maintains and administers the College?s 1Card system, with exception of the database.
- Maintains and administers the College?s camera system.
- Maintains and administers the College?s VMWare system.
- Ensures data integrity by guaranteeing data is backed up and servers are fault tolerant.
- Maintains server performance by supplying them with the newest service packs, patches, and enhancements.
- Installs all physical cabling structure and maintains Visio maps of that structure.
- On call every other week in evenings and weekend in the event there is an issue.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate degree in computer science or related field. Relevant equipment/software training.
- One to three years of server\cloud\cybersecurity administration.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), CCNA preferred.
- Microsoft M365 Administration Experience Preferred
