JOB SUMMARY: Under general direction, the Network Administrator installs, monitors, and maintains information technology systems and telecommunications equipment to ensure proper function and security. Act as backup support for all general help desk calls. Administer and maintain Microsoft 365 systems including Exchange/Outlook, Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive. Administer and maintain file servers, hosted services, software applications and security systems and processes. The Network Administrator may research and implement new technologies in accordance with technology and Bank plans. Works under minimal supervision.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Education: College degree preferred, High School Graduate or equivalent with additional training in computer network operations implementation and support
  • Experience: Four years previous technical and information systems experience. Microsoft 365 systems management experience desirable.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assist Information Technology Director in monitoring and managing all facets of data processing, network operations and telecommunications
  • Analyze and research technologies to improve staff and department efficiencies and productivity
  • Troubleshoot software or hardware problems with personal computers, network systems, telecommunications and peripherals
  • Maintain and support external connections with service providers, including core data processing provider and management services provider.
  • Research technology problem resolutions, create necessary documentation, and communicate necessary information to Bank staff and management
  • Perform personal computer, printer, and other peripheral preventative maintenance
  • Develop and implement various training and instruction programs for users on the use of operating systems, networking, applications, and security
  • Install and test computers and related network hardware in a networked environment
  • Act as a back-up to the Information Technology Director for security and management
  • Read technical journals and/or manuals, attend vendor seminars and appropriate professional development workshops to learn about the maintenance and use of emerging computer hardware, software, and network systems
  • Assist department heads in making effective use of computer resources
  • Assist developing written reports of department activity and performance for management
  • Be knowledgeable of bank compliance rules and adhere to Federal and State banking regulations relating to this position
  • Follow all Bank compliance policies and procedures relating to this position

  • Ability to concentrate and focus on essential functions in appropriate priority order is required.

  • Requires sitting for long periods and traveling to other departments and locations, as needed.
  • Requires contact with others by telephone conversations, use of electronic mail, and face-to-face discussions.
  • Requires completion of assigned on-line training courses with a passing percentage.

  • Work is performed indoors in environmentally controlled conditions.
  • Special projects may require off-hours work during evenings or weekends.

SKILLS:

  • Knowledge of information technology hardware and software systems including e-mail systems, file servers, personal computers, networking technologies and general applications
  • Competency in general networking systems and protocols including DHCP, DNS, SFTP, VPN connections and Active Directory.
  • Competency in managing Microsoft 365 systems including Exchange, Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive.
  • Fluency in using Excel spreadsheets and Word
  • Competency in written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage project timelines effectively
  • Ability to tolerate stress
  • Ability to work with others in a cooperative manner that supports a team environment
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule that may require occasional weekend and/or evening work
  • Ability to work full-time hours as scheduled
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

RELATIONSHIPS:

  • Responsible to the Information Technology Director for the fulfillment of functions and responsibilities.
  • Required to work with all Information Technology Department staff on projects or tasks when necessary.
  • Required to support and collaborate with Information Technology project leads, including Document Imaging Administrator and Director of Operations or others as needed.
  • Required to collaborate, cooperate, and communicate with management, co-workers, clients and the public in a manner that will enhance the overall mission of the bank.
