Job Description
Full-time position in the Wood River, IL area. The NDT Trainee will assist NDT Technicians in performing non-destructive testing of materials while training to become a certified technician.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Set up and calibrate non-destructive testing equipment under the supervision of the certified technician.
- Assist NDT Technicians in testing to ensure quality non-destructive testing methods.
- Assist Radiographers in performing x-rays of piping and equipment.
- Become familiar with required codes and procedures to carry out testing.
- Record results of inspections.
- Attend Radiation Safety Classes.
- Attend training classes required to obtain certification.
- Perform other job-related tasks as assigned by management.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- No experience required – IRISNDT will provide classroom and on-the-job training.
- Knowledge of NDT and/or welding technologies will be considered an asset.
Requirements:
- Valid Driver’s License and pre-access drug and alcohol testing required.
- Pre-employment background checks will be required.
Physical Requirements:
- Move, carry, and lift objects 50 lbs. or more.
- Must be able to walk, stand, bend, reach, and climb.
- Must be able to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
