MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
High School Diploma or GED Certificate.
Valid Driver's License required (subject to motor vehicle record review)
Level 3 Operator Certification
3-5 years' experience in Natural Gas Construction, Operation and Maintenance.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES
Operates, maintains, and calibrates equipment such as hand tools, pressure gauges, combustible gas indicator, Remote Methane Leak Detection (RMLD), InfraRed Gas Detector (DP-IR), grease gun, multimeter, odorometer, and carbon monoxide detector.
Operates, maintains, and inspects Natural Gas pipeline facilities such as valves, measurement equipment, pressure regulators, relief valves, and other equipment related to the operation and maintenance of the Natural Gas system.
Ensures pipelines and facilities are protected against damage from outside forces through patrolling activities and are free from leaks through leak survey activities.
Identifies and reacts to Abnormal Operating Conditions.
Performs residential meter activities (turn on, turn off, and exchange) and plumbing skills.
Responds to potential Natural Gas related emergency situations in a timely and safe manner, investigate thoroughly, and take appropriate action to protect life, property, and the environment.
Maintains accurate field records and reports on equipment and system facilities.
Analyzes and interprets data and take and/or recommend appropriate actions.
Provides instruction to Natural Gas Operator Trainee, Level 1 and Level 2 in Operator Qualification classes.
Provides on the job training and mentorship to Natural Gas Operator Trainee, Level 1 and Level 2 employees.
Communicates status and coverage of operational responsibilities to coworkers and supervisor.
Participates in internal process improvement, problem-solving, and project planning teams.
Establishes and maintains satisfactory customer and public relations, through direct contacts with respective individuals or groups of landowners.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by conducting research; attending seminars, educational workshops, classes, and conferences; and conferring with representatives of related organizations.
Performs after-hours callouts and rotational 24-hour standby coverage.
Performs other duties as assigned.
