About the Position
This is an exceptional opportunity for a motivated and experienced leader to take on the role of National Vice President of Retail. The selected individual will be at the forefront of guiding our retail operations spread across multiple locations nationwide. The core mission involves crafting and implementing strategic plans to bolster sales, achieve ambitious growth objectives, and ensure strict adherence to the unique regulatory frameworks governing the cannabis industry.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Craft and execute a comprehensive strategy for retail operations, aligning with overarching business goals.
- Spearhead efforts to refine retail operations, enhance the customer experience, and expand market presence.
- Work collaboratively with teams across various departments to integrate retail strategies with efforts in production, marketing, and compliance.
- Manage all facets of dispensary operations, encompassing inventory control, sales processes, team coordination, and customer relations.
Team Management
- Direct and motivate a top-tier team of District, Area, and General Managers, along with Retail Operations Managers, fostering a culture of teamwork and positivity.
- Hire, mentor, and develop retail personnel to boost career growth and operational productivity.
- Establish clear performance metrics, conduct regular evaluations, and address performance issues in a timely manner.
Sales & Growth Objectives
- Set and pursue ambitious sales and growth targets for each retail outlet.
- Utilize sales data, market insights, and customer feedback to pinpoint areas for improvement and expansion.
- Implement efficient inventory management strategies to ensure optimal stock levels and turnover.
- Manage financial planning tasks, including oversight of profit/loss statements and labor cost management.
Compliance Oversight
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of cannabis laws and regulations, guaranteeing full compliance across all operations.
- Develop and maintain uniform audit processes to ensure consistent adherence to regulations, emphasizing accurate tracking and reporting.
- Work closely with legal and regulatory departments to navigate compliance challenges and updates.
Operational Excellence
- Drive operational efficiencies to cut costs and boost profitability.
- Oversee the adoption and effective use of POS systems and other technological solutions to streamline retail operations.
Qualifications
- Extensive experience in a high-level retail leadership position, preferably within the fast-paced and expanding cannabis industry, is essential.
- Deep familiarity with the regulatory landscape of the cannabis industry, including experience managing compliance across multiple states.
- A proven history of meeting or exceeding sales goals in a competitive environment.
- Outstanding leadership and team management skills, capable of motivating a diverse workforce.
- Analytical and decision-making prowess, grounded in data-driven insights.
- Excellent communicative and interpersonal abilities, comfortable working with various departments and organizational levels.
- Experience in managing both unionized and non-unionized settings.
- Proficiency in cannabis industry-specific POS and compliance software, like Dutchie and Metrc.
- Willingness to travel frequently to meet the demands of a growing retail network.
Education & Experience
- A Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, or a related field is preferred.
- At least 12 years of progressive leadership experience in the retail sector, with a significant portion in the cannabis industry.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $151,175.00 - $166,169.00 per year
