SalaryProfessional and active family in the Issaquah/Bellevue area is searching for their next long-term nanny! Both parents work full-time (outside the home) and are looking for someone to care for their two boys, ages 5 and 7. Both of their previous nannies rave about working for this family and are happy to provide references!
The older boy will be turning 8 in May and is sweet, empathetic, super silly, loves to read, play with legos, and LOVES to play with friends. He is currently in second grade.
The younger brother recently turned 5 and is sweet, snuggly, and loves one-on-one attention. As most 5 year olds he is learning his voice of what he wants and doesn’t want… and he’s not afraid to tell you “it’s not fair.” He is very funny, loves playing with cars, and playing with friends.
Both boys have great imaginations and can play independently. The parents are hoping to find a true partner in their family journey and one that prioritizes play time over screen time. Their parenting philosophy is one that focuses on setting clear boundaries with kindness and having natural consequences. Both parents believe that their nanny is an extension of the parents and they put their support and trust in the nanny managing and handling issues as they arise.
THE DETAILS:
Location: Issaquah (98027)
Start Date: April 8th ideally but will wait for the right match!
Children: 5- & 7-year-old boys
Schedule & Hours:
Option 1:
30 hours per week:
Mondays 8:00am-5:30pm
Tuesdays 2:30-5:30pm
Wednesdays 2:30-6:30pm
Thursdays 2:30-5:30pm
Fridays 8:00am-5:30pm
*Most Mondays, the boys are both in school until 2:30pm so the mornings can be used for light household help such as kid laundry/picking up pre-ordered groceries, etc. If school is closed, both boys will be home.
Option 2:
22.5 hours per week:
Mondays 2:30-5:30pm
Tuesdays 2:30-5:30pm
Wednesdays 2:30-6:30pm
Thursdays 2:30-5:30pm
Fridays 8:00am-5:30pm
Summer Schedule (preferred but not required): The family would LOVE to find someone that is willing to work full-time with overtime during the summer (June 5-beginning of September) but not required. Monday-Friday from 8:30am to 5:30pm for a total of 45 hours per week (overtime opportunity).
Work from home: Both parents work outside of the home
Compensation: $35 per hour (room to grow after the first contracted year!)
Benefits: PTO + Sick Days + Paid Holidays/Observed Holidays
Duration: Long term, one year commitment or longer desired
Pets: None yet!
Driving: Nanny must have a valid driver's license, full coverage auto insurance, a responsible driving record, and a reliable car you are willing to use to transport the children on the job. Mileage will be reimbursed.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide nurturing and supportive care and of course, fun!
Follow the schedule as provided by parents
Communicate effectively and often with parents
Meal prep for boys / making of lunches
Light driving (picking up from school in Bellevue and occasional after-school activities)
Light Tidying (boys’ rooms and play areas)
Children’s laundry
Take initiative! Helping out whenever and wherever possible
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Be energetic and outgoing with a self-directed personality and a “can do” attitude
Have 1-2 years of childcare experience
Proficient in child development
Have stellar references
Have a responsible driving record and be willing to provide a complete driving history report
from the DOL
Infant and Child CPR/First Aid Certified (or willingness to renew before starting the position)
Willingness to submit to a Background check
Ability to make at least a one-year commitment
Non-smoking
