Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Under general supervision, the Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer performs skilled maintenance and repair services for Hoag Hospital and its affiliates (the "Organization"), specifically for Hoag Hospital Irvine (HHI). Repair services can include plumbing, gas, lighting, HVAC and other basic repairs and preventative maintenance to facility. The Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer has the ability to interpret blueprints and schematics, along with the knowledge of methods, controls, practices, and techniques of maintaining building and facilities. Displays and practices a work-style that reflects the mission, vision and values of REFCO and the Organization. Participates in the continuous quality improvement process. Maintains a working knowledge of departmental standard operating procedures, including the use of specialized instrumentation, Quality Control requirements, and preventive maintenance.
Performs basic repairs to plumbing fixtures, clears water lines. Performs preventative maintenance on hospital equipment. Works on Life Safety systems, medical gas systems, and pneumatic tube system. Performs basic repairs and preventative maintenance to facility including, but not limited to, lighting fixtures by changing lamp ballasts, resetting circuit breakers, and basic HVAC trouble shooting and diagnosis. Maintains patient equipment, beds and other equipment as designated. Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma
- Minimum one (1) year experience in building maintenance and repair, preferably in an acute hospital environment.
- Must be knowledgeable of power tools and equipment
License
Required:
- Current CA driver's license required for local travel.
