The Multimedia Producer (entry level) will capture, process, catalog and
distribute imagery of the university for the promotion of the institution and
photographic and video coverage of university activities and events for use in
digital and print applications.
- Capture professional quality photographs and video for use with media coverage, documenting, and/or covering university students, faculty, staff, alumni, UTA President’s office, university senior leadership, guests, and on and off campus VIPs, as well as, other university photo/video needs or publications in order to meet stated project specifications and deadlines.
- Simple editing post-production of captured video footage (b-roll) for distribution to media outlets.
- Ensure equipment is ready and functional for shoots, and after shoots, edit, optimize, meta tag, and post on the University’s digital asset management system.
- Will assist other university photographers in cataloging images.
- Maintain professional quality products produced by the photography department.
- Keep photographic equipment in good operating order and stock supplies to meet the workflow demands of the department.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in photography, multi-media production, videography, graphic design, or equivalent experience.
- This is an entry-level position that requires a minimum level of relevant photography or multi-media experience, supported by a portfolio of photography samples, as requested.
- Demonstrated positive, collegial, and collaborative work style.
- Direct, in-house working experience (excluding freelance) as a photographer.
- Previous work experience at an advertising/public relations agency, corporate in-house organization or higher education in-house creative team.
- Competency with leading industry-standard image editing and file management programs, including
- Adobe Creative Suite, with emphasis in Bridge, Premier, After Effects, Light room, and Photoshop.
- Competency in Microsoft Office programs.
- Multi-media skills, such as online publishing, social media, video, online photo presentation, etc.
- Ability to complete all physical tasks as needed.
- This position is designated as essential personnel under the University’s crisis management plan, and there is a potential for significant and prolonged demands on time during times of crisis or emergency.
- May work in all weather conditions.
- May work around standard office conditions.
- Requires lifting of camera and lighting gear, climbing ladders and extended periods of standing and walking.
