Typical Day in the Life

A typical day as a Multi-Employer Payroll Services Manager might include the following:

  • Supervising complex payroll compliance audits to achieve objectives including staff development, client needs, and engagement profitability.
  • Outlining engagement objectives, issues, findings and recommendations in a variety of client situations.
  • Leading engagement teams in determining a client’s compliance with collective bargaining agreements that relate to their payroll and employee benefits.
  • Managing client relationships with integrity by monitoring client needs and building value into professional service.
  • Regularly communicating with clients including client’s other plan professionals (e.g., Third Party Administrator and Legal Counsel) and providing high level service via phone, e-mail, and in-person contact.
  • Evaluating the costs, benefits and risks of alternative solutions to client problems or needs.
  • Capitalizing on personal and professional experiences in order to develop business and practice lines.
  • Supervising and delegating duties to Associate and Senior Associate level staff.
  • Providing mentorship and technical training for staff in the payroll compliance department.
  • Attending training seminars (including internal training), professional development and networking events.
  • Maintaining compliance with project budgets, turnaround times, and deadlines.
  • Traveling to employer sites - 10-20% for overnight/out of town travel and 30-50% in field local travel.

Who You Are

  • You have a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field (preferred).
  • You have 5+ years of experience in payroll compliance (required).
  • You have advanced knowledge of payroll compliance standards and collective bargaining agreements.
  • You have knowledge of and exposure to a variety of client types and industries.
  • You have strong critical and analytical thinking skills.
  • You have experience networking and developing business.
  • You have excellent verbal and written communications skills and effective presentation skills.
  • You can work on multiple projects and meet deadlines by setting priorities with work projects.
  • You can establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and clients.
  • You ensure the highest professional standards and maintain strict client confidentiality.

Must be authorized to work in the United States now or in the future without visa sponsorship.

 

Benefits and Compensation

Our compensation philosophy emphasizes competitive and equitable pay. Eide Bailly complies with all local/state regulations regarding displaying salary ranges. Final compensation decisions are dependent upon factors such as geography, experience, education, skills, and internal equity.  

 

Salary Range: $130,000-$170,000
