Ms-Network Engineer Iv

Responsible for the development and maintenance of network communications. Uses knowledge of LAN/MAN/WAN systems to help design and install internal and external networks. Tests and evaluates network systems to eliminate problems and make improvements. Requires a bachelors degree and 6-8 years of experience in the field or in a related area. This role must be well versed with the advanced engineering and administration of multiprotocol routers, multilayer switches, network security devices and network management systems. Possesses one or more industry standard certifications including CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, etc. ITIL v3 studies expected. Familiar with a variety of the fields concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. May lead and direct the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Must be familiar with managed services concepts within an outsourcing environment. Typically reports to a manager.

Knowledge, skills, abilities:
Expertise in designing, planning, implementing, and troubleshooting complex network topologies
including data, voice , security, video, and wireless networks.
Expertise in routing protocols including BGP, IGRP, EIGRP, and OSPF
Expertise in TCP/IP, MPLS, VLANs, Trunks, and Ether Channel
Expertise in the configuration and maintenance of Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls (IOS and NXOS)
Experience with Juniper Firewalls and NetScaler load balancers, and Riverbed WAN appliances
Experience with Enterprise Wi-Fi (Ruckus Wireless a Plus) configuration and maintenance
Experience with VoIP Network Solutions
Advanced skill level with mastery of most operating systems commands/utilities
Demonstrated experience with storage technologies and converged network products.
Demonstrated experience and proficiency in process automation
Demonstrated experience implementing multiple security policies and procedures
Capable of resolving complex software and hardware problems
Provides project management for all network and security infrastructure changes to the
environment
Assists with the design, implementation, and management of disaster recovery infrastructure, policy
and procedures, and business continuity plans
Designs and develops highly complex, integrated solutions to meet business requirements or
enhance performance.
Provide Tier II/III and 24/7 on-call support for network systems and infrastructure.
Troubleshoot network systems and application performance with the use of packet capture and
protocol analysis.
Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness,
approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure.
Performs and evaluates cost analyses and vendor comparisons for large scale projects to ensure
cost-effective and efficient operations. Measures feasibility of various approaches and makes
recommendation(s). Ensures adherence to model created and overall budgetary guidelines
Provides escalated, highly complex technical support to client by investigating and resolving
network-related matters of significance
Applies advanced methods, theories and research techniques in the investigation and solution of the
complex network requirements and problems. Develops training tools and documentation; oversees
implementation of all network related projects

Minimum certifications/educational level:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or MIS or comparable experience
CCNA Cisco certified (CCNP or CCDP preferred)
Other Certifications preferred but not required
Juniper Networks Certified Internet Specialist - Firewall/VPN (JNCIS-FWV)
Riverbed Certified Solutions Associate WAN Optimization (RCSA-W)
Riverbed Certified Solutions Professional Network Performance Management (RCSP-NPM)
Radware Certified Connectivity Specialist for LinkProof (RCCS)
Minimum experience:
6+ years of experience as a Network Engineer in an enterprise environment
6+ years of related experience with networking technologies (Cisco/Juniper)
6+ years of related experience with security technologies (Firewall/IDS/IPS)
2+ years of related experience with WAN Optimization technologies (preferably Riverbed)
Excellent organizational, written, and oral communications skills a must
Ability to work in a team oriented environment.
Ability to work shift work, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
Ability to work flexible schedules as needed
Experience working within a financial company a plus.
