Typical Duties & Responsibilities
- Process payroll for all MPD pay groups according to the semi-monthly pay schedule.
- Follow up with MPD staffs' financial requests related to transfers, finance reports, and updates in their payroll records.
- Receive process, posts, and file transactions for vendor payments and credit memos, including those by manual check, corporate credit card, ACH, Wire, Foreign Exchange and vendor payment portals in NetSuite
- Request necessary documents for processing payment from vendors and initiate to create a new vendor card in NetSuite.
- Review and reconcile vendor statements with payments if necessary.
- Communicate and follow-up inquiries from vendors, recipients and representatives.
- Ensure that source documents, including memos, are reviewed, verified, and stored for payment coding and approvals and easy recovery for the annual financial audit.
- Post federal, state, and local payroll taxes for monthly, quarterly, and annual balances due.
- Review monthly Aged Accounting Payable report and follow up with vendors.
- Work with the Accounting Manageror COntroller on the preparation and processing of annual IRS 1099 forms.
- Attend to all work in an amiable, accurate, and timely manner.
- Complete additional tasks as assigned by the Staff Accountant, Accounting Manager, Controller, or CFO.
- Maintain membership in good standing at an Every Nation church.
Minimum Qualifying Experience
- Bachelor's degree in finance or business administration preferred
Minimum Qualifying Experience
- Three to six months of experience in bookkeeping and accounting is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Analytical skills
- Understanding of basic accounting
- Computer literacy, experience with word processing and spreadsheet applications, as well as web-based software-as-a-service applications
- Ability to communicate amiably and effectively both verbally and in writing
- Ability to establish and maintain effective and healthy working relationships with co-workers
- Excellent interpersonal skills, a learning posture, an encouraging spirit, and the ability to work in a team environment
- Working knowledge of administrative procedures and processing
