MOTORMAN
Reports To: Chief Engineer, with a functional reporting line to the Watchkeeping Engineer.
Location: Offshore
BASIC FUNCTION:
DUTIES:

Maintaining clean work areas and equipment, clean machinery areas under the control of the Watchkeeping Engineer.

Assisting Engineers and Deck Engineer (where carried) during repairs and maintenance of equipment.

Performing other mechanical duties as directed by the Watchkeeping Engineer.

Performing emergency duties in accordance with the vessel’s Muster List / Station Bill.

Ensuring that his daily activities and the activities of other crew members are carried out in a safe and healthy manner and that the impact of such activities on the environment is within acceptable limits.

Complete other duties and/or projects as required and assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: The Motorman shall hold a USCG Merchant Mariner’s Credential.
Experience: Minimum 2 years’ experience as motorman, preferably on an offshore marine vessel; or recognized mechanical institution.
Skills: Able to speak and understand English.
Special Requirements: Additional requirements are contained the Vessel Qualifications & Training Matrix appropriate to each vessel.
Innovation: The Motorman has the authority to stop ANY activity on the grounds of immediate safety, health and environmental hazards.
Decision Making: The Motorman coordinates with any persons necessary for the safe and efficient operation of the vessel.
