Apostolic Christian Restmor in Morton is looking for a full-time Activities Director!
Position Summary:
Provides activity-oriented services to meet the social, emotional, cognitive, physical, spiritual, and behavioral needs of residents.
Essential Duties:
Responsible for planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating a daily comprehensive program of activity services for residents:
Planning:
- Completes thorough assessments of residents and resources
- Establishes program and resident goals
- Adherence to state, local, and facility standards
- Designs interventions to meet resident goals
- Actively participates as an interdisciplinary team member in the care planning process
- Assures comprehensiveness of program plan
- Performs departmental quality activities/meetings
Organizing:
- Designs and revises program schedule (daily, weekly, monthly, and annually)
- Obtains and maintains supplies, equipment resources including community contact
- Directs and supervises activity staff and volunteers, including evaluations and instruction
- Communicates/promotes schedules to residents, family, staff and the public
- Facilitates cooperation among departments in achieving resident goals
Implement/Evaluate:
- Delivers individual and group programs
- Responsible for assuring accurate record keeping on residents, program, staff, and the department
- Assesses and documents the effectiveness of services to meet program goals and the progress of residents in meeting care plan goals
Administrative Duties:
- Responsible for monitoring Activity Department budget and other fiscal management procedures
- Participates as a member of administrative committees as assigned
- Participates in and provides for staff development
- Adheres to all agency and department policies and procedures
- Management of Activities department personnel
- Creates department schedule, working as needed when experiencing staff call offs
- Assists with Resident Council and works with local Ombudsman
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Proficient in Microsoft Word & Excel required
- Excellent communication skills required
- Previous supervisory experience preferred
- Previous event planning experience preferred
- CRT certification preferred
- Ability to speak clearly, as well as to see and hear
- This is a full-time, 32-hour per week position. Applicants must have availability to flex hours until 7:30pm when needed. Applicants must also have the availability to work on weekends when needed.
Physical Demands:
Frequent standing, sitting, walking, pushing/pulling, bending/standing, reaching, climbing. Occasionally lifting up to 50lbs. Some exposure to potentially hazardous equipment, chemicals and infectious waste.
