Summary
Having serviced commercial transportation and Motor Truck Cargo Claims effectively for a decade, Veritas is looking to expand upon the highly skilled and experienced staff we currently have. Our clients have come to expect an elite level of service and subject matter expertise on a consistent basis. The right candidate for this position will possess a high degree of relevant experience and be able to easily convey this knowledge and information to outside parties, including clients. Extensive knowledge of Cargo Claims and general liability claims handling practices and relevant experience are essential.
A sampling of claim variety may include: property, slip & fall, Motor Truck Cargo, bodily injury, and more.
Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and timely estimates on cargo & general liability claims.
- Thoroughly review, anticipate, and adhere to client instructions in a timely manner
- Oversee and manage the product received from field adjusters and other vendors
- Acquire recorded statements by telephone with the insured, claimants, and witnesses to gather pertinent information
- Obtain necessary documentation
- Review and audit field estimates & photos
- Effectively manage injury claims, secure medical records, determine and effectively negotiate appropriate bodily injury settlement values
- Prepare detailed formal summary reports documenting information gathered from the investigation
- Identify fraudulent claims and underwriting risks
- Recognize subrogation and risk transfer potential
- Make recommendations to management on disputed and high exposure claims
- Conduct routine claim review with management and round table discussions
- Prompt delivery of interim status updates and final narrative reports to clients
- Coordinate effectively with partners in the field to yield timely and valid results
- Communicate in a professional and eloquent manner with outside parties, namely clients
- Clearly document all claim handling activities and communications, and consistent recording of all time spent completing those claim services
- Employ critical thinking and problem solving to meet client expectations on files.
- Maintain daily diary as needed to remain on task, timely and proactive in claim handling
- Identify and clearly convey information needed to partners in the field
- Deliver an elite level of quality and service on all files, including work done by outside partners
- Agility adapting to workflow changes and procedural variations tailored to client-specific needs
- Develop and maintain positive client relationships by communicating and responding effectively and in a timely manner to client requests, correspondence, emails and voicemails.
- Manage a large volume of claims quickly, independently, and efficiently.
- Utilize technology to assist and streamline appraisal process
- Diligently and accurately record time for all action taken on a file to ensure proper billing
- Adhere to “Best Practices” and consistently follow procedural expectations
- Consistently accurate in maintaining data points that affect business intelligence and reporting
- Manage a large volume of claims quickly, independently and efficiently.
- Perform other job-related duties assigned
Qualifications
- Minimum of two (2) years Cargo Claims adjusting experience, preferred 5 years.
- Minimum of three (3) years General Liability adjusting experience, preferred 5 years. Intermediate level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Maintain a professional appearance and provide a positive company image
- Ability to create positive relationships with coworkers in a team environment as well as adapt positively to changes within the company
- Competency in MS Office, Claim Pilot, and Adjust Rite software are preferred but not required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
