The Job
Bluespace is looking to hire our first Motion Planning Engineer to join our growing team. You will have the opportunity to make a major contribution to our growth and,ate industry-leading algorithms, put them into software to help our customers make their spaces safer and more efficient, and see them come to life running hands-on tests on our vehicles.
Duties and Responsibilities
- You will draw on the latest advancements in Motion Planning while creating novel advanced algorithms as we learn what whowlp our customers meet their goals.
- Algorithm design, software implementation, software testing, verification and validation, and in field -field -tand evaluation are all part of the job.
- You’ll be doing all these activities in a way that allows BlueSpace to scale to new customers while ensuring our current customers get what they need.
- As part of a collaborative team, you’ll work with other engineers across the stack to identify what capabilities we need to delight our customers and continuously learn and iterate so we can deliver an end product that exceeds expectations.
Qualifications and Experience
- MS/Ph.d with a minimum of 5 years experience
- Strong foundational technical skills in mathematics, physics, probability/statistics, and engineering (for example, as demonstrated by relevant educational experience, published work, or publicly available software)
- Demonstrated deep knowledge of modern Motion Planning and control software
- Experience designing and implementing Motion Planning methods in deployed software running in real time on a ro-ot platform
- Experience developing in multiple large, complex C++ codebases
- Ability to design software testing suites for robust Motion Planning
- Enjoy learning from others and sharing your knowledge
Extra Credit
- Having worked a product from initial development to release
- Knowledge of verification, validation, and safety analysis for autonomous vehicles or other complex systems
- Development experience in parts of an autonomy stack beyond Motion Planning and controls
- Technical leadership in a software or engineering organization
- Experience with ROS, OpenCV, ROS2, and/or QNX
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $100,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
