About the Role
As a member of the creative team, the Motion Designer III produces animated learning videos from script to launch using the established Clover Learning production system. The MD3 is a multi-talented creator with advanced skills and deep industry knowledge in both graphic design and 2D motion design. The MD3 builds storyboards, designs video graphics, and adds motion to video designs on one or more projects throughout production. Working independently or collaboratively, the MD3 moves fluidly between projects in order to increase production capacity as needed.
The MD3 also participates in video critiques with teammates and subject matter experts. While developing videos, the MD3 will work collaboratively with fellow graphic designers, Motion Designers, instructional designers, and subject matter experts to ensure video content is accurate and effective. The Motion Designer III will provide weekly status updates to the Content Production Manager and Creative Director throughout video production.
What You Will Do
- Report to the Creative Director on motion graphics video productions
- Deliver high quality storyboards, designs, and motion graphics according to project timelines
- Organize and manage all created content according to the Clover Learning file structure
- Produce storyboards based on provided scripts and in collaboration with instructional designers and subject matter experts
- Produce designs and motion graphics using the Adobe Suite and other industry-leading software for educational content related to healthcare and STEM
- Prepare files for use in various media types including online-based content
- Participate in professional development and team growth opportunities
- Report progress to Content Production Manager in weekly production meetings
- Create content which aligns with the established Clover Learning brand image and educational guidelines
- Collaborate with all members of the content development team
- Manage individual project workflows and tasks using Trello, Frame.io, and Dropbox
- Research featured subject matter in order to effectively explain difficult concepts through graphic design and motion graphics
- Learn and utilize best practices for creating educational videos
- Work with external partners to create video content when necessary
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional graphic design and motion design experience (must include experience in a video production environment)
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator (Photoshop, InDesign is a plus)
- Expert proficiency in Adobe After Effects
- Entry level knowledge of Adobe Audition and Media Encoder
- Experience with 3D animation is a plus (Cinema 4D specifically)
- Excellent organization and communication skills
- A collaborative mindset and ability to work with varying and changing needs
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Creative thinker and problem solver
- Experience interacting with clients is a plus
