The Mortgage Lock Desk Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day activities, investor relations and communications between FNM and selected Mortgage investors.
Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities:

• Answer all loan officer inquiries concerning product and pricing concerns. Seek advice of Lock Desk Manager where needed.
• Confirm loan Lock requests and enter appropriate data into our Loan Origination System.
• Use Investor Websites to upload loan data and confirm locks.
• Assist in maintaining all product manuals to ensure they are accurate and up to date.
• Handle the majority of correspondence with wholesale lending customers including but not limited to: lock confirmations, status of commitments, product availability, pricing negotiations, complaints, and problem resolution.
• Check all lock confirmations for accuracy and resolve any issues with investors and forward to accounting.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:

• Fundamental knowledge of the Mortgage loan process.
• Intermediate computer proficiency.
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products.
• Knowledge of Mortgage Banking compliance policies and procedures.
• Driven to meet and exceed established targets.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Industry and Work Experience:

• 1 year of mortgage industry related experience, strongly preferred but not required.

Academic:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
