Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Mortgage Processor to join our team. As a Mortgage Processor, you will play a crucial role in the loan origination process, ensuring that all necessary documentation is collected and reviewed accurately and efficiently. Your knowledge of loan officer duties, escrow procedures, financial services, and fair housing regulations will be essential in providing exceptional service to our clients.
Duties
- Review loan applications and supporting documents for completeness and accuracy
- Verify borrower information, including employment, income, and credit history
- Calculate debt-to-income ratios and analyze credit reports
- Prepare loan files for underwriting review
- Communicate with borrowers, loan officers, underwriters, and other parties involved in the loan process
- Coordinate with escrow officers to ensure timely closing of loans
- Follow up on outstanding conditions and documentation needed for loan approval
- Maintain compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies
Skills
To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills:
- Strong understanding of mortgage lending processes and procedures
- Knowledge of fair housing regulations and compliance requirements
- Proficiency in basic math calculations and 10-key typing
- Ability to analyze credit reports and perform credit analysis
- Familiarity with underwriting guidelines and loan programs
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Effective communication skills to interact with clients and team members
