Job Description
We are looking for a full time, live in or out, Montessori certified and experienced teacher to teach our children the Montessori way of life and education. Our children are 1 and 2. We are looking for a kind hearted individual who adores children, has a grounded nature, is incredibly patient, and takes a nurturing loving approach to education and childcare.
Location:
- We live in North Dallas and intend to travel and would like someone who is flexible to travel with us for months at a time to NY/LA/possibly abroad.
Role:
- You would be in charge of the children's education, constantly incorporating throughout their daily routine and life Montessori teachings. Other play based lifestyle certifications such as Reggio Emilia/Waldorf/ or a combination will also be considered. The ideal candidate has a degree in Early Childhood and experience and skills teaching emotional intelligence and development.
- You will manage their day including meals, cooking for and with the children, diapers, potty trainings, walks, reading, singing, accompanying them to extracurricular classes, and constantly coming up with educational activities for them to meet and constantly exceed milestones. You should be very comfortable with 1 and 2 year old milestones as well as older as they grow at least up to age 6 milestones.
- You will have the freedom and responsibility of curating their overall home including play environment to transform it into a Montessori, organized space free from chaos and teach the principles of putting activities away before going to the next, proper hygiene, etiquette, etc. Ideally you would guide independent play Montessori but also incorporate more structured group activities to teach the children to play in harmony.
Qualifications:
- The ideal candidate has both acted as a lead Montessori teacher and a nanny and is comfortable guiding others. You will be working with other nannies and babysitters to help you with the children and ideally can take the lead and guide the other support to help you in educating the children the Montessori way.
Teamwork requirements:
- We have a weekend nanny and weekday to help you with the children. You must be a fantastic team player with a great attitude, able to give effective and kind constructive feedback, and able to inspire others. No drama. Mature candidates only with calm demeanors and exceptional patience.
Term:
- One year to start, ideally leading to a 2 to 4 year old as their primary educator. This can continue as a long term nanny/governess role further for the right candidate. We would love someone to grow with the family long term.
Schedule:
- This is a full time role, 5 days a week, with the option of working 12 or 10 hours 730 to 730, 930-730, or a traditional 8 hour shift is possible for the right candidate and circumstance. For example 730-330 or 12 to 8pm.
- If you're amazing and extremely well qualified but deterred by long hours then we will still consider you for an 8 hour shift, 40 hour week as long as you can train the other nannies to main a consistent learning environment for the children when you're not working.
Compensation:
- Live in or live out. Live in candidates will be provided accommodations within the family home.
- Meals included.
- Nanny car provided to drive the children to the park, music classes, gym classes, and other activities. Some personal use allowed.
- Competitive salary based on experience $50-80k/year.
- Initial 60 day trial can be set at an hourly rate
