Description
**January Start Date** A well-established private Montessori school in the Salt Lake City area seeks highly motivated individuals to join our community. MACTE Early Childhood Teacher certificate preferred.
Hours: Full-Time
Pay: Varies depending on education, experience and credentials
Duties Include:
- Prepare and maintain safe, organized, and developmentally appropriate learning environments
- Plan, prepare and deliver lessons appropriate for the range of students served
- Observe and evaluate each student's performance and development in school's record keeping system
- Prepare progress reports and lead parent teacher conferences
- Maintain all documentation as required by the school
- Supervising recess or gym time
- Driving school vehicles on field trips

School:
Montessori Community School of Salt Lake City is a private school that has been operating since 1985. The school has a current enrollment of approximately 220 students in the academic session and about half the enrollment in the summer. It is located near Foothill and 1700 South and school hours are 7:30 am - 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday. The mission of the school is: To provide an authentic Montessori experience that nurtures the natural unfolding of the whole individual, instills a love of learning, encourages acts of peace, and empowers all. Requirements
- Pass a background check with Child Care Licensing (steps will be provided by the school)
- Motor Vehicle Report will be pulled
- A valid driver's license and ability to drive school van's on field trips
- Candidates will be asked to provide proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and other occupational health hazard immunizations upon commencing employment (reasonable accommodations will be considered on a case-by-case basis for exemptions to this requirement in accordance with applicable law)
- Should be able to lift a child of up to 35-55 pounds
- Meet the physical requirements of the job i.e. squatting, sitting or kneeling on the floor when necessary for assisting students or maintaining the environment
Education:
- B.A/B.S from an accredited institution or
- Montessori teaching credential from a MACTE recognized teacher training program
- Fulfill annual professional development and performance review requirements
- Maintain teaching skills and participate in professional development activities
