This position is for our Emergency Monitoring Center that is open 24/7, 365 days a year. Monitoring Center Operators are primarily responsible for monitoring life safety devices to respond as quickly, accurately, and efficiently as possible while providing excellent customer service. In this role you will be sitting at a work station, operating a computer and speaking on the phone for 8 to 12 consecutive hours. We do have some stand up work stations. We like to say this role is about 80% customer service, 15% emergency dispatch, and 5% tech support.
We are currently looking to fill day and swing/evening shifts, including weekend shifts; but the schedule can be and is changed as needed to ensure there is enough coverage. We are currently hiring for full and part time. There is always a possibility of a part time position becoming full time. Flexible availability is preferred. Good attendance is critical to success in this role.
Alarm monitoring is not a routine job and starts with an extensive paid training program over several weeks. Experience is not necessary, we will train the right people! Position entails a heavy work load with constant multi-tasking and needs good reading comprehension and memorization of many policies and standard procedures. You must be able to deliver excellent customer service while under stress. The ability to correctly prioritize tasks, accuracy, reliability, and accountability are all necessary qualities to have in order to be successful in this position.
Must be able to type quickly and accurately. Good spelling and the proper use of English grammar is required. Prior customer service, business level computer use, and business phone experience are helpful for qualifying.
Must pass a state criminal background check and have a clean drug test. (Medical Marijuana not allowed due to federal contracts). Good credit history helpful to obtain an optional federal security clearance towards future advancement. Already having a federal security clearance is very helpful for qualifying.
Compensation: People in this role can earn $20.00 to $22.00 an hour.
