Job Summary and QualificationsThe Monitor Technician provides 24 hour round-the-clock cardiac telemetry monitoring of designated patients who are located throughout the hospital. Must be able to assist with receptionist /clerical duties. The Monitor Technician can expect to care for adolescent through geriatric patients. The attached criteria based performance evaluation provides a specific set of standards as they relate to age specific competency.
What You Will Do In This Role
Demonstrates knowledge and ability to identify EKG rhythms.
Must be able to successfully pass an EKG exam by 80% or better, post-job offers and within 4 weeks of start date.
Current BLS through American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
Completes a competency checklist upon hire and annually thereafter.
Demonstrates basic computer literacy.
What Qualifications You Will Need
Preferably at least one year recent experience (within the last 5 years) as a telemetry tech and awareness of medical terminology.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- High School Graduate / GED
