Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Specimen Collector to join our team. As a Specimen Collector, you will be responsible for collecting and processing various types of specimens for laboratory testing. This position requires knowledge and experience in specimen collection techniques and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Duties: - Perform specimen collection procedures, including venipuncture, fingersticks, and urine collection - Collect specimens from patients in hospitals, research laboratories, and other healthcare facilities - Ensure proper labeling and documentation of collected specimens - Follow established protocols and procedures for specimen handling and processing - Maintain cleanliness and organization of the specimen collection area - Adhere to safety guidelines and infection control protocols - Assist with inventory management of specimen collection supplies - Provide basic life support assistance when necessary Experience: - Previous experience as a Specimen Collector or Phlebotomist preferred - Knowledge of medical terminology and laboratory procedures - Familiarity with veterinary terminology is a plus - Experience working in a hospital or research laboratory setting is beneficial - Ability to perform spinal taps, catheterization, and other specialized specimen collection techniques is desirable Skills: - Proficient in venipuncture and other specimen collection techniques - Strong attention to detail and accuracy in specimen labeling and documentation - Excellent communication skills to interact with patients and healthcare professionals - Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment - Knowledge of basic life support procedures If you are a skilled Specimen Collector looking for an opportunity to contribute to the healthcare field, we encourage you to apply.
