Full Time Microbiology Supervisor working Evenings at our Core Lab in Moraine, Ohio.
Eligible for $10,000 Sign On and Stay Bonus for ACSP certified or eligible candidates!
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: With the Director of Infectious Disease Testing, provide direct supervision and daily leadership to the Microbiology department in concert with CompuNet's mission, vision and values to meet business objectives and customer expectations.
Utilize the departmental staffing plan to provide daily schedules, work assignments, and time to complete special projects.
Review timekeeping system data on a regular basis, submit completed payroll records on time, manage department overtime.
Assist in the development and management of the department budget.
Assist with the selection of new employees, provide initial training and ongoing development through coaching, continuing education, competency assessment and the performance appraisal process. Set goals and objectives, determine appropriate corrective action and document employee performance throughout the year.
Provide clear, consistent communication to staff through regularly scheduled meetings, memos, bulletin boards and personal communication. Collaborate with the other shift manager to ensure that technical quality is identical across shifts; ensure smooth shift transitions and shift-to-shift communication.
Develop departmental compliance, ergonomic, and safety procedures as needed based on company policies; ensure departmental compliance with all company and regulatory policies and procedures.
Conduct quality reviews for culture results, collect pertinent data, troubleshoot issues that affect workflow or operations, facilitate improvement activities.
Facilitate communication with internal and external customers; support and promote all customer satisfaction initiatives. Evaluate customer satisfaction.
Along with Director of Infectious Disease Testing,, select instruments and methodologies, oversee method validation and verification studies, monitor test performance.
Contribute to the overall effectiveness of the organization by communicating Roadmap goals and promoting activities to achieve current Roadmap metrics.
Participate as part of the CompuNet Management Team, attending appropriate meetings and participating in various committees and teams as needed.
Perform routine technical work, advanced/specialized testing or any other duties assigned or needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology with ASCP certification
3-5 years demonstrated success and experience in positions of progressively increasing responsibility in a medical lab environment
Demonstrated leadership skills and abilities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Sound reasoning ability and independent judgment.
Ability to work within specified deadlines and timetables.
