Your Role
As a Mission Manager, you are assigned to each flight to lead the Flight Execution Team (FET). The Aerospace Flight Manager's primary relationships and responsibilities include Execution of Post Certification Mission (PCM) flight production process and schedule.
Your role will include:
- Focus on supporting the liquid rocket engine hardware assembly process through work orders, non-conformances, process improvements, maintaining schedules, and weekly reports.
- Creation of complex build and flows, manufacturing plans, or the like with numerous piece parts and several sub-assemblies
- Taking a product from development to production
- Leveraging your experience with a variety of hardware manufacturing practices, including assembly, integration, instrumentation, precision cleaning, non-destructive testing, leak testing, final acceptance testing, fabrication, and machining
- Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Complete Responsibility, Accountability, and Authority (RAA) to NASA for all mission-specific integration activities, including scheduling, manifesting, and reporting for Crew Module (CM), Service Module (SM), Cargo, and Launch Vehicle (LV).
- Align with the NASA Commercial Crew Program (CCP), International Space Station (ISS), and the Visiting Vehicle Integration Manager (VVIM).
- Delegate authority from the Engineering Control Board through the Mission Integration and Operations (MI&O) Manager to lead the FET
- Lead the FET and manage the day-to-day mission, crew, and cargo integration activities, assuring that concerns are identified and resolved in a timely manner
- Manage the flight production schedule (master schedule) and the execution of flight preparation activities leading to launch and the post-landing activities through Post-Flight Assessment Review
- Ensure integration activities and schedules are coordinated with the VVIM and issues are resolved in a timely manner
- Coordinate FET assessment of manifest and program requirements
- Report results to the VVIM team for discussion and integration
- Serve as the senior representative for CCP and ISS program integration, control boards, and milestone reviews
- Provide flight vehicle and cargo integration status as necessary
How You Will Be Rewarded
The annual salary for this role is $126,000 to $179,000. Compensation depends on the candidate’s work experience, education/training, and related skills. SAS provides a total rewards approach to compensation, providing incentives and benefits far beyond base salary.
