MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES(not all inclusive):

• Manage daily quarry and port activities to include stripping, hauling, crushing, stacking, shipping, and maintenance
• Ensure a safe work environment through effective housekeeping, enforcement of Corporate safety policies and practices, and ensure adherence to MSHA, TCEQ and ATF requirements
• Responsible for control of mine budget areas including labor, repair and maintenance, productivity, mine development, and supplies
• Analyze gypsum reserves and plan production activities to optimize mining efforts and ore consistency
• Develop and maintain both short and long-term mine plans to include all aspects of mine activity (production planning and scheduling, maintenance planning and scheduling, equipment rebuild or replacement, capital projects, etc.).
• Ability to effectively communicate mine planning objectives to all levels of the organization
• Assist in preparation of the capital budget by recommending projects, preparing appropriation requests, and obtaining competitive prices and/or bids and coordinating the approved projects’ implementation
• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

• A mining or mining-related degree
• 3-5 years’ in mine supervision/management, with experience in supervision, production planning, maintenance coordination, and mine engineering
• Proven leadership abilities with hourly and salaried employees. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop a team atmosphere and build bench strength within the team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and AutoCAD
• Experience in safety, operational, and mechanical training
• Solid organizational and management skills
• Ability to think strategically and to problem solve
• Knowledge of mobile equipment and mining equipment maintenance
• Experience in designing and implementing blasting procedures
