PURPOSE & SCOPE OF THE POSITION:
Mine Operations Supervisor helps manages a crew of approximately sixty plus equipment operators and all associated mining-related activities in a safe and environmentally responsible manner. Proactively coordinates activities and resources in conjunction with other departments in order to comply with priorities and overall objectives of the mine plan.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Follow safe work procedures and best practices.
• Assists in managing and supervising a Mine Operations crew.
• Support and assist the Senior Supervisors in their work.
• Maintain a clean work environment.
• Train others.
• Participate in job planning.
• Participate in meetings and discussions.
• Be a role model to others in safe behavior.
• Be willing and enthusiastic.
• Willingness to perform other duties as necessary to ensure the success of KGHM.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & TRAINING:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• A minimum of 3 to 5 years Mine Operations or construction experience preferably in an open pit mine environment or large earthmoving excavation environment.
• 1-2 years of supervisory experience.
• Valid Driver's License.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & TRAINING:

• A BS degree in Mine Engineering or other related technical field preferred. Equivalent years of related experience can substitute for the Engineering degree requirement.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

• Occasionally for training and development.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Handle disciplinary action within the operations department.
• Is responsible for quality and quantity of work performed by subordinates.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Heavy: Exerting 50 to 100 lbs. of force occasionally and/or 25 to 50 lbs. of force frequently and/or 10 to 20 lbs. of force constantly. Physical demand requirements are greater than that required for Light Work.
