Chemours is seeking a Mine Geologistto join our growing Technology team! This position will report directly to the Engineering Manager at our Starke, Florida location.
The Mine Geologist role is a full-time position that will support the mine planning team by analyzing data, providing reports, creating maps, and leading projects. This role will include key communications with multiple mining operations divisions to provide mapping, planning, geologic, and engineering support. Additional duties include drilling, sampling, and analysis, maintaining drilling databases, along with geologic modeling, and development of mining guidance in the form of interpreted cross section, interpreted drilling and plan maps.
The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Recommends courses of action designed to eliminate potential production problems and to improve safety, operational efficiency, control production costs and protect the environment.
• Develop knowledge and skills relative to being the regional expert on the minerals and geology within the region.
• Analytical skills to identify and address the gaps in mining operations in a systematic manner.
• Plan, manage and report drill programs to support mining, mine planning and exploration objectives.
• Support evaluation of mineral properties, acquisitions, and mine development options.
• Develop, update, and maintain resource models for each of the Resource locations.
• Maintain reconciliation program to document recovery and mining factors in support of forecasting accuracy and verification of geologic models.
• Support permitting, environmental and reclamation activities.

The following is required for this role:

• Bachelor's degree in Geology or Geological Engineering
• 1 to 3 years' work experience in applied geology
• Some familiarity with mine planning software such as Vulcan or experience with other geologic modeling or 3D design tools
• Proficient in GIS Mapping
• Proficient in MS Office

The following is preferred for this role:

• Advanced Geology or Geological Engineering degree
• Experience in mining industry
• Capabilities with basic geochemistry
• Proficient in Vulcan or other 3D modeling tools
• FAA Drone Pilots License OR willing to study, take, and pass exam within 60 days of hire date.
