Position Highlights:
The Mid Revenue Cycle Data Specialist is responsible for researching, reviewing and processing requests impacting the patient health records - amendments and corrections. This position performs all functions leading to the resolution of accounts placed on hold due to deficiencies with the clinical documentation. It provides support to the Health Information Management (HIM) coding team by researching and resolving issues related to provides queries and updating the coding system with the queries response. It processes all inquiries and requests routed to HIM for patient medical records related data. It processes updates to related to providers names and credentials in the applicable system.
This position serves as a liaison between the clinical staff and HIM coding team to ensure the integrity of the patient medical records to enhance coding and billing accuracy.
Responsibilities:
- Runs clinical data reports to process request and resolve issues related to the patient health records. Completes assigned task from worklists or from system reports based on assigned criteria of priorities determined by Mid Revenue Cycle Data Specialist Sr, Supervisor or Manager
- Performs all functions leading to the resolution of accounts placed on hold due to deficiencies with the clinical documentation. This includes but is not limited to data research, contacting the clinical providers directly, escalating to leadership or other teams and stakeholders.
- Responds to all stakeholders in a timely manner and with a high level of professionalism. Documents requests and resolution of accounts to support impact to coding and billing.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Experience Required:
- High School/GED and four (4) years’ experience working in a Healthcare environment required; inclusive of the following experience: reviewing, researching, running and producing reports from patient medical records and coding systems and databases. Experience with troubleshooting clinical data issues with documented resolution to assist the Health Informatics coding team.

- Bachelor's degree and no experience required; must have Microsoft Office and computer proficiency.
Minimum Skills/Specialized Training Required:
- Medical terminology experience
Preferred Experience
- Bachelor's degree and prior experience working in a healthcare related field is preferred.
