The Registered Nurse (RN) shall provide healthcare support to an industrial workforce. Medical care and coordination of services includes, but not limited to: basic first aid, occupational surveillance, medical exam preparation, phlebotomy, urine collection, administration of vaccines, respirator fit testing, audiometric testing and management of employee health and wellness program initiatives. The RN will report to the nurse supervisor and will be clinically supported by the worksite nurse practitioner, physician assistant, and review medical officer. 

 

All healthcare services shall be provided in accordance with established standards, principles, regulations, best practices and ethics of the profession. 

 

·      Maintain approved work systems, procedures, processes and policies

·      Obtain vital signs, vision screening, height and weight, and specimen samples in preparation for medical exam

·      Serve as the primary vaccine coordinator, administering vaccines and other pharmaceutical therapy

·      Provide basic first aid

·      Initiate referrals as appropriate

·      Collaborate with medical team as needed

·      Coordinate clinical operations and prioritize tasks as needed

·      Remain up to date with training and competencies

·      Compile examinee’s medical record

·      Maintain all medical records in accordance with privacy laws, medical protocols and policies

·      Procure and maintain medical inventory 

·      Attend and participate in a variety of meetings and task force groups to maintain a level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, improve quality, and obtainable outcomes

·      Participate in development and enforcement of policies aiming for total compliance and high-quality standards 

·      Comply with all applicable Summit Healthcare Solutions standards and guidelines

 

·      Associates degree from an accredited nursing school

·      Current unrestricted Registered Nurse license in the State of Michigan

·      Three (3) years of clinical Registered Nurse experience 

·      Active Basic Life Support (BLS)

·      Ability to understand instructions furnished in written and oral forms of English

·      Proficiency in the use of basic Microsoft word, Outlook, and Excel 

·      Ability to pass a background check

 

·      Bachelors degree from an accredited nursing school

·      Current unrestricted Multistate Registered Nurse license 

·      Five (5) years of clinical Registered Nurse experience

·      Two (2) years of Registered Nurse leadership experience

·      Experience in Occupational Healthcare

·      Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN) or Certified Occupational Health Nurse Specialist (COHN-S)

·      Certified NIOSH- Pulmonary Function Training  

·      Certified Occupational Hearing Conservationist (COHC)

·      Department of Transportation (DOT) Drug Testing Collector

 

 

·      Routinely performed in an interior clinic / office environment

·      May involve sitting for prolonged periods of time

·      May require standing and walking for prolonged periods of time

·      May require bending, stooping and lifting up to 25 pounds
