We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Peritoneal Dialysis Registered Nurse to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in renal care, with a focus on Peritoneal Dialysis. As a PD RN, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality care to patients with end-stage renal disease who are undergoing Peritoneal Dialysis treatment. You will play a key role in educating and supporting patients, as well as collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform assessments of patients before, during, and after Peritoneal Dialysis treatment.
- Set up and maintain Peritoneal Dialysis equipment.
- Educate patients and their families on the Peritoneal Dialysis process, including home-based Peritoneal Dialysis if applicable.
- Monitor and adjust dialysis parameters as necessary.
- Administer medications and manage complications related to Peritoneal Dialysis.
- Document patient data accurately and maintain detailed records.
- Collaborate with nephrologists, social workers, dietitians, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients.
- Provide emotional support and encouragement to patients throughout their Peritoneal Dialysis journey.
Qualifications:
- Current RN licensure in the state of Michigan
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and patient education skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Experience in Peritoneal Dialysis or renal care is a significant advantage.
