The Associate Art Director will lead a team of graphic designers and will be responsible for developing, leading and executing design solutions with high visual impact. This role will be responsible for finding efficiencies in design and will maintain the consistency in the brand while serving many clients in different functional areas which include promos, live remote, live studio, programming and sales/marketing initiatives.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Actively and consistently supports all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
- Design and animate various projects for Spectrum Networks as well as delegate and approve projects.
- Oversee, mentor coach and lead a team of graphic designers.
- Ensure that the delivered products or services adhere to Spectrum Networks policies and standards to maintain brand consistency.
- Ensure all projects are delivered on schedule with excellence and within the estimated budget.
- Collaborate with other departments and senior leaders. Liaise with creative personnel across assigned region.
- Research and acquire video, direct VO sessions, choose music and incorporate graphic elements in their work and provide innovative suggestions to others.
- Lead and identify opportunities for improving the quality of designs and other project issues.
- Assist the team members to choose the right style, attractive graphics, images, and other visual elements to adept them according to the objectives of the project.
- Lead, assign, train, schedule and oversee the work of others.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Required Skills/Abilities and Knowledge
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
- Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects and Adobe Creative Suite
- Effective creative and innovative skills
- Demonstrated project management and organizational skills
- Ability to delegate
- Ability to adapt to rapidly changing circumstances and solve complex problems while demonstrating a positive attitude and positive approach
- Maintain and grow technical job knowledge
- Knowledge of the latest techniques and procedures used in designs
- Ability to interface with internal company personnel, external customers and vendors
- Must be able to work under daily deadline pressure while demonstrating strong design skills
- Must have ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
- Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills; ability to clearly communicate solutions; and able to relate well with diverse populations and age groups
Required Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Graphics Design or equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Related Work Experience and Number of Years
- Creating graphics in news or sports - 5+
- Management - 2+
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred Skills/Abilities and Knowledge
- Experience with Cinema 4D and Chyron a plus

WORKING CONDITIONS
- Office environment
- May involve phone or physical presence at the facility for equipment failure or other issues that may arise. This includes but is not limited to severe weather emergencies
- Working various shifts, longer shifts, weekends and holidays, and be flexible with schedule changes due to "breaking news", and/or severe weather emergencies
- Travel: 15% where applicable
