Position Overview
Reporting to the Director of Corporate Compliance & Privacy, the Compliance Intern will assist the Department in updating policies, procedures, and plan documents to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal statutes and regulations pertaining to all lines of business.
Join us this summer (June – August) for a highly interactive and engaging internship experience where you get to work alongside various departments to develop your skills and learn more about the health insurance and healthcare industry.

Interns will also participate in workshops, activities and other events organized by MetroPlusHealth
*Note: This is a paid internship program. Prospective interns must be current students attending an accredited College or University and must be 18 years or older to be considered.
- Updating the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) Compliance plan.
- Updating website and portal privacy policies.
- Validating existing regulatory citations and documenting any missing references.
- Updating existing Corporate Compliance and Privacy policies and procedures.
- Assisting in the development and drafting of new policies and procedures.
- Creating educational resources regarding designee requirements and legal forms surrounding health care decisions.
- Providing other administrative and technical support as assigned.
- 2L or 3L in good standing at an ABA-approved law school
- Preferred candidate will possess:
- Superior legal research and writing skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Creative problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and sometimes in ambiguous situations
- Comfortable in team and individual work settings
- Health care industry experience a plus
- Knowledgeable in Compliance programs and their requirements.
