WIM USA is the premiere designer and manufacturer of women's swimwear located in New York, NY. We are 84 years young and seeking a Corporate SocialResponsibility and Compliance Operations Manager to join our expanding team.

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) & Compliance Operations Manager

Overview

Corporate Social Responsibility Manager

The Corporate Social Responsibility Manager will help support the organization in identification and management of social and environmental sustainability initiatives, with a focus on social, environmental, and regulatory compliance and traceability. The Corporate Social Responsibility Manager will own special projects and brand specific projects related to Responsibility and sustainability within the supply chain. This person should have a keen interest in sustainability, inside and outside of work. They should be able to contribute to the company's sustainability roadmap as a subject matter expert.

Responsibilities

  • Support the organization in organization, management, and implementation of sustainability certifications such as GRS, RCS, OCS, GOTS, and BCI.
  • Support the organization in research and development of sustainability management strategies as they apply to growing regulatory landscape.
  • Maintain a good understanding of the latest global policies and regulations around supply chain transparency.
  • Lead organization's greenhouse gas emissions calculations and reporting for CDP.
  • Familiarity and understanding with reporting mechanisms such as GRI and SASB.
  • Supports environmental sustainability strategy development and target-setting. Identifies baselines, associated targets, and KPIs.
  • Lead retailer and brand specific sustainability surveys and projects tracking emissions data and major sustainability initiatives throughout the supply chain.
  • Complete organization's and brand level sustainability presentations.
  • Participate in Compliance Committee, leading the discussion for owned projects.
  • Work with Cross Functional teams to ensure retailer requirements are being met.
  • Research and maintain keen understanding of broader industry best practices and emerging technologies and developments related to sustainable materials.
  • Partner with B2B to create reporting mechanisms enabling visibility to company sustainability impact.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to implement tools that will help better identify and categorize sustainable manufacturing attributes.
  • Utilize Higg Index to understand emissions and product lifecycle, as needed.
  • Understanding of and experience creating LCAs, as needed.
  • Participate and support philanthropic projects, as needed.
  • Works and/or liaises with consultants, as applicable.

  • Previous implementation of traceability platforms a plus

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science or sustainability, or 3+ years' experience with Sustainability in Apparel Manufacturing
  • 8 to 10 years in Apparel Manufacturing or adjacent manufacturing industry
  • Experience working with Cross Functional Teams
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong knowledge of sustainability frameworks and reporting structures such as CDP, SBTI, GHG Protocol
  • Understanding and experience of industry specific frameworks such as Higg Index and ZDHC
  • Master's degree in Sustainability a plus

Working Conditions: Hybrid /office


Physical Demands: Must be able to stand, sit, and walk 8 hours/day.
