Job Description
Nikon Metrology is seeking a Principal Engineer who will be responsible for the creation, growth, and profitability of X-ray Inspection Services lab operations at our Irvine California office location. There will be an emphasis on expanding the laboratories capabilities and team to maintain alignment with the company's continued growth.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
- Provide customers with a world class X-ray and CT experience.
- Lead X-ray and CT scanning activity from order through satisfied customer
- Assist business development in quoting X-ray scanning requests.
- Ensure that work orders and associated documentation are completed in a timely manner.
- Provide customers with assistance in reviewing scan data.
- Provide direct technical assistance to customers via web and onsite meetings.
- Lead improvement projects including ISO & CIR implementation.
- Maintain in-house equipment.
- Advocate for resources required to meet current and future customer needs.
- Manage and perform application requests related to the sale of equipment.
- Perform equipment and software demonstrations for prospective customers.
- Other duties as assigned.
ANCILLARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Recruit and train staff necessary to support scanning service growth.
- Build and maintain relationships with customers.
- Ability to deal with multiple priorities while working on simultaneous projects.
- Settle differences of opinion properly and clear all issues and conflicts effectively.
QUALIFICATIONS
ESSENTIAL
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience in a technology related field
- 5-10+ years of experience related to industrial x-ray & CT scanning
- Thorough knowledge of digital x-ray imaging and computed tomography
- Strong understanding of industrial x-ray imaging systems and components
- Utilize a variety of tools to track, solve and maintain KPI's.
- Awareness of (ITAR) compliance
FUNCTIONAL COMPETENCIES
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Knowledge of measuring and Metrology Technologies
- Ability to inspire, motivate and lead a team.

- Outstanding interpersonal abilities
WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to travel 10-20%
