MERCHANDISING MANAGER
DEPARTMENT: Sales
REPORTS TO: Chief Operating Officer
Director, Sales and Market Execution
BASIC FUNCTION:
The Merchandising Manager will be responsible for planning and directing the day-to-day merchandising operations of John P. O’Sullivan Distributing. The Merchandising Manager will develop strategies to drive store sales and increase profitability, ensure customer needs are met, resolve customer complaints, and ensure that service is quick and efficient. The Merchandising Manager will ensure that all products and displays are merchandised effectively and will forecast staffing needs to provide optimal staffing in all areas and objectives set by the suppliers and John P. O’Sullivan Distributing.
WORK PERFORMED:
Maximize retail execution by implementing & monitoring sales/marketing resets that target volume goals, distribution, shelf management. Working with senior management to adjust company account standards as necessary to maximize growth & profit based on brand/SKU’s priorities;
Ensures compliance with all company policies, practices, procedures and controls, applicable to his/her primary function. Project a positive attitude and integrate our core company values.
Intra-company activities:
Assist Sales Manager, Chain Manager, Business Unit Managers, and Salespeople in achieving pertinent brand distribution goals and objectives.
Retail standards:
Work with all levels of the sales department, on an ongoing basis, to facilitate achieving desired outcomes and in-field training.
Maintain a close working relationship with top retailers.
Merchandiser Trainer:
Train new merchandisers on proper and most efficient execution of their job duties with the benchmark of 100 cases per hour.
Schedule merchandiser team weekly, monitor hours and mileage.
Perform quality audits.
