Position Overview

Responsible for Childrenswear North America E-Commerce and Full Price Store financial plans at a fiscal, superseason, divisional, classification level that delivers on Corporate objectives and meets sales, inventory, profit and turn objectives  Represent the Childrenswear division and the DTC channels (RLE and RLS) in North America and/or Global financial rollups by presenting strategies and forecasts Manage team consisting of planning and allocation members Bring prior work experience to participate as stakeholder and/or subject matter expert in systems and process improvement projects

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Merchandise Financial Planning

  • Oversee, direct and participate in development and achievement of annual divisional financial plans
  • Create tops-down sales, margin, discount rate plans for team as guidance against bottoms-up divisional/category plans from planners
  • Partner with buying counterpart to define product strategies and enhance customer experience
  • Direct classification and/or door plan creation, maintenance, upkeep for seasonal fashion investment including productivity analyses
  • Manage key item planning process to ensure adequate receipts at program level for monthly core basics investment
  • Lead monthly sales and receipt forecast and OTB process at seasonal, fiscal and classification level
  • Responsible for overseeing price change management (including promotions, markdowns, markups, currency conversion)

 

Allocation

  • Guide and approve allocation team strategies to support divisional goals in conjunction with store planning goals
  • Create and maintain consistent and clear communication on inbound (from factory to warehouse) and outbound (from warehouse to stores) with operational partners (logistics, store communication) using established processes or initiating new ones
  • Ensure team's allocation strategies optimize store in-stock levels

 

Inventory Management

  • Develop promotion and markdown strategies to manage seasonal inventory; partnering with wholesale stakeholders on shared styles 
  • Brainstorm and execute liquidation strategies for season-end excess stock including partnering with inventory management team, large format store outlet counterparts, and wholesale partners

 

Talent Management

  • Identify, retain and develop talent
  • Coach RL team on functional aspects of role to maximize potential of both people and process
  • Mentor emerging leaders with exposure to more aspects of the business, leadership development courses, and stretch projects

 

Process Leadership

  • Partner closely with team leaders to align cross-functional objectives and best practices
  • Coordinate efforts of direct reports to ensure consistency of planning and distribution
  • Develop and maintain cross-divisional peer relationships
  • Identify and communicate opportunities where management support is needed on initiatives and strategies
  • Cultivate a collaborative, creative, results-oriented work environment
  • Assume leadership role in change management
  • Lead, implement and adopt new technologies
