Mental Health Technician
THIRA Health – Bellevue, WA
Shift: Saturday and Sunday, 8am - 6:30pm
Required Education: Associate’s degree
THIRA Health seeks a Mental Health Technician with excellent communication, interpersonal, and administrative skills. The ideal candidate must be organized, proactive, flexible, a team player, and have experience working in, or expressed interest in pursuing a healthcare work environment with direct Mental Health patient interaction.
Job Duties Overview:
- Support and assist psychotherapists, nurses, and dietary staff in creating and maintaining a safe and therapeutic milieu environment
- Observe and report changes in patient’s behaviors, physical symptoms, and Mental Health status to the clinical team
- Serve as point of contact for new patients entering the program orienting them to program structure, space and rules
- Co-facilitate community meetings with therapy staff, encourage group engagement
- Participate in milieu activities, reinforce effective interactions and provide redirection for ineffective interactions
- Provide supported interventions in the milieu to facilitate patients practicing DBT skills
- Assist with meal/snack preparation with direction from dietary staff
- Support Diet Technician & CNA responsibilities as needed (vitals, snack/meal prep, medication passes, bag checks, etc.)
Requirements:
- Associate’s degree or equivalent experience; Bachelor's preferred
- Must be able to regularly support programming on one or more weekend days
- Must possess a valid Driver's License, clean driving record, and the ability to transport patients safely in facility vehicle
- Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background check (Federal & State)
