Mental Health Technician - Crisis Stabilization- Ccbhc - Full Time - 2Nd Shift

GENERAL SUMMARY:
Crisis Stabilization Services at Horizons Mental Health Center (HMHC) offer 24/7, short-term services, to adult and youth experiencing a Mental Health crisis with the mission to reduce inpatient hospitalization admissions, reducing the amount of time with law enforcement, and engaging individuals with outpatient treatment to support their needs.
Provides intensive, goal directed services to support individuals who are in a Mental Health crisis which require Crisis Stabilization services. The team works closely with all Horizons clinical and community partners to provide services at a higher level of intensity or frequency with the goal of community tenure by the consumer.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Provide Crisis Stabilization services to individuals experiencing a Mental Health crisis while at the Crisis Stabilization Center (CSC)
• Interacts routinely with clients in a positive and supportive manner
• Monitors and documents observations of client treatment, activities, and behaviors
• Supports clients in completing activities of daily living
• Collaborates with community partners, caregivers, family members, physicians and other treatment providers regularly until the crisis episode is complete
• With the oversight of a clinician, assists in coordinating access to appropriate level of care following assessment
• Utilizes deescalating skills in intense situations
• Supports consumers in achieving treatment goals, medication compliance, crisis management, monitor client one to one for safety or as needed
• Collaborates with team to assist client with scheduling follow up Mental Health appointments
• Work towards successful reintegration of consumers back into their home, community, school and outpatient/community Mental Health services
• Schedule may include some night and weekend shifts base on community crisis needs and in coordination with direct manager/director
• Complete all required documentation, training and competency reviews in a timely and accurate manner as defined by the agency.
• Other activities as assigned.

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Computer proficiency

• Two years or more professional experience in Mental Health services, crisis response, or a related field.
• Two years or more of experience working with educating and teaching clients about self-care, improving daily living activities.

• Employee must pass KBI, DCF child abuse check, adult abuse registry, and motor vehicle screens.
• Within 60 days of employment, the employee must have completed CPR Training, First Aid Training and other assigned trainings.
• Valid driver's license, insurance, and a dependable vehicle
