Midwest Asian Health Association (MAHA) is a non-profit organization with a mission to reduce health disparities for Asian and Pacific Islander Americans (APIAs) and other disenfranchised immigrant populations through culturally sensitive and linguistically appropriate community health programs. MAHA is seeking a full-time Mental Health Counselor for its Community Mental Health Center.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Provide outpatient trauma informed individual, couples and family counseling services and care coordination
· Facilitate group therapy and/or psychoeducational groups as necessary
· Complete all necessary clinical documentation in compliance with Medicaid Rule 132/140, including Mental Health assessments and individualized treatment plans
· Participate in weekly Mental Health team meetings / group and individual supervision and other required staff meetings
· Collaborate with the Clinic Program Manager and Employment Specialist to address client needs
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's degree in a field/discipline related to Mental Health such as psychology, social work, counseling, behavioral science, or marriage and family therapy.
Minimum one (1) year of clinical experience as a staff clinician in a Mental Health setting
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills; excellent written and verbal communication skills; basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Email, Excel, etc.)
· Must be eligible and able to obtain a fingerprint card and background check prior to hire
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· LPC/LSW/LCPC/LCSW, Certification, Registration
· Chinese and/or Spanish Fluency preferred but not required
· Evening or weekend availability a plus
